58 Nebraskaland • April 2019 MIXED BAG Conquer your fears and take in Eugene T. Mahoney State Park's breathtaking views from a new perspective. Opening April 11, Go Ape Treetop Adventure is the park's latest outdoor addition, allowing visitors to dangle among the birds and journey across the park's forest canopy by rope and zipline. Go Ape will test your critical thinking, coordination, balance and stamina as you navigate your way across suspended obstacles, swings and exhilarating ziplines. Fun and challenging for individuals and families, this high-ropes course can also provide team building opportunities among companies and groups. Treetop Adventure usually takes 2-3 hours to complete, and participants will be safely secured by harness at all times. The course is open to anyone ages 10 and up. However, participants must be at least 4 feet, 7 inches tall and weigh no more than 285 pounds. Good physical fitness is required, but no great deal of athleticism is necessary. A state park permit is required to enter Mahoney State Park. The cost is $49 per person for ages 16 and older, and $39 for ages 15 and under.
