Take a break to enjoy over fi ve miles of amazing hiking trails. View migrating shorebirds All month | Anywhere with proper habitat May is the peak of spring shorebird migration in Nebraska. With proper habitat – shallow water and mud – shorebirds will gather in the Rainwater Basin and eastern saline wetlands, reservoirs and other bodies of water. It's great birdwatching, as shorebirds will let you get closer than other species. Just take it slow and give birds a little bit of space.
