26 Nebraskaland • June 2019 peel away, the more beauty that you see. I think that's important today. I've spent 25 years as a photographer in conservation, dedicated to my home, the Great Plains of North America. I've seen a lot, I've experienced a lot, I've learned a lot, but I've only scratched the surface. I love being able to hand what I have Mike Forsberg and Peter Stegen ending the bike portion of their journey above the Platte River near Henry, Nebraska. A crew from NET Television: Emily Kruetz, left, and Mariah Lundgren, right, interview Peter Stegen along the shoreline of Lake McConaughy in western Nebraska. Peter Stegen pulls the canoe through a dense stand of cattails during a long portage around a diversion dam on the North Platte River in western Nebraska.
