native sparrows
Throughout the month | Statewide
With about 18 species migrating through the state in
October, sparrows are one of the most visible groups of
birds this month. Most species can be found in brushy,
grassy areas. Not too excited about viewing sparrows?
Give them another look, suggests Game and Parks'
nongame bird program manager Joel Jorgensen. "Some
of these sparrows, once you get a close up view of them,
can be stunning," he said.
