Frost adds sparkle as a pair of
Canada geese (opposite) wade in
the mist of the North Platte River
near Melbeta.
Having served its purpose under the lush cover of green
leaves, a long-abandoned nest seems more vulnerable come
winter.
A common sight at Nebraska's wetlands, the distinct seed
heads of cattail have attracted many photographers.
O
f course, this is an annual process
– a progression as Nebraskan
as that corn that is husked
each fall. Throughout Nebraska, we're
entering that brown stage once again.
Take to it with an attentive eye – it can
be beautiful.
