Fish for smallmouth bass in
the unchannelized Missouri

The unchannelized portions of the Missouri in
northeastern Nebraska off er the state's best smallmouth
bass fi shing "by far," said Daryl Bauer, Game and Parks'
fi sheries outreach program manager. "You can spend
days exploring new water and catching fi sh," he said.
Crankbaits, jigs and fl ies work well.
Hunt for turkey
in southeastern
Nebraska
Throughout the month
Southeastern Nebraska
In the southern half of southeastern
Nebraska, a cluster of wildlife management
areas and Open Fields and Waters sites off er
great turkey hunting. Most areas are fairly
accessible and don't require tons of walking.
