16 Nebraskaland • June 2020 Nebraskaland Magazine has long been a scrapbook of sorts. Its pages serve as portals into the history of our state. They track nearly a century's worth of conservation work by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and pay homage to Nebraska's unique range of fl ora, fauna, eco-regions and parklands – as well as the many outdoor recreation opportunities they aff ord the people of Nebraska. Not only do Game and Parks staff frequently consult back issues of Nebraskaland for research about past and current outdoor information, but so do our subscribers. The pages of the magazine are also a source for families looking for long ago images of loved ones, or even of themselves. Vintage issues of Outdoor Nebraska, the predecessor of Nebraskaland, are hard to come by. While we here in the Nebraskaland staff offi ces have long been able to thumb through many of those rare and crumbling pages, even our own archives lack physical copies of most of those early issues. In fact, no one repository houses a complete run of the entire magazine, from start to fi nish. Now, in a collaborative eff ort between the Nebraskaland Magazine Photo Library and the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the fi rst 50 years of the publication are available in the Nebraskaland Magazine Digital Archive: https://nebraskaland.unl.edu/. The archive is fully searchable, allowing users to view, browse and explore all issues of the magazine, 1926-1976. Additional years will be added as they become available, with a one-year lag behind the current subscription year. Whether you're looking for information about the history of the Nebraska State Parks system; advice on how and where to hunt, fi sh or generally engage with the outdoors; want to learn more about the incredible diversity of plants, animals and eco-regions across our state as well as about the people who enjoy them – the Nebraskaland Magazine Digital Archive is a good place to start. Jackie Vogt is the photo librarian for Nebraskaland Magazine and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. NEBRASKALAND DIGITAL ARCHIVE ONLINE By Jaclyn Cruikshank Vogt IN THE FIELD
