A 160-foot floating bridge connects a peninsula to the northwest shore of Lake Ogallala. A portion of the funds for this angler access bridge was provided by the Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District. PHOTO BY ERIC FOWLER The sheer size of Lake McConaughy allows boats of all sizes to navigate its waters for fishing and recreation. A hike and bike trail starts in the campground at Lake Ogallala and leads park visitors on a 1.8 mile, one-way trip to the diversion dam.
