"Dad, that's all you're carrying?" Eli asked when he saw
this for the first time, unimpressed by the small collection of
spinnerbaits, crankbaits and soft plastics I was planning to
bring to the lake.
"That's all I need," I said. "If I can't catch 'em on what's in
here, then it's time to go and do something else."
He just shrugged, loaded up his six tackle boxes into the
boat and offered me a faint look of disgust as we climbed
into the truck.
I had never seen that look before, but I'm pretty sure my
dad did when I was growing up.
