24 Nebraskaland • June 2021 TOP RIGHT: Lights illuminate a cabin on the bank of the pond at Victoria Springs. The park's two cabins were remodeled this spring, with the screened porches enclosed to expand living space, decks added overlooking the pond and a ramp built to make them wheelchair accessible. BOTTOM LEFT: Ron and Rhonda Kush of Platte Center walk down a trail that winds through the grassland and woodlands on the west edge of the park. BOTTOM RIGHT: Margy Stoly of Lincoln fishes from the bank near her cabin on the pond. Anselmo Victoria Springs is located 6 miles east of Anselmo. The 60-acre area includes historic buildings, cabins, campsites and a picnic area. Half of the campsites and the two cabins take reservations up to a year in advance. The park will host one of three signature events celebrating 100 years of Nebraska State Parks on July 10. It will feature a vintage baseball game and walking tours of the historic cabins and the namesake springs.
