62 Nebraskaland • October 2022 THE LAST STOP I've seen a thousand campers during my tenure at Nebraskaland Magazine — but none that have stuck out more than this beauty. Perhaps it's my affinity for old vehicles or the owner's spot-on paint-matching jobs between the truck and camper, but when I came across the combo last October at Mormon Island State Recreation Area, I couldn't stop staring. Visiting the region to shoot fall color, I encountered more color than I had bargained for. I nearly knocked on the camper to introduce myself to the owner, but decided against it. I had come from Omaha to this region for some peace and quiet, and I imagined this person had, too. Instead, I did my rounds at the park, photographing the reds and yellows so reminiscent of a Nebraska autumn. Then, for good measure, I added a little aqua blue for a truly unique fall picture.
