November 2022 • Nebraskaland 29 What to Do in November Fish for walleye and sauger at Lewis and Clark Reservoir Throughout the month Fishing slows down in November, but as one of Nebraska's larger reservoirs, Lewis and Clark has plenty of opportunity this month. The lake has a decent walleye population as well as other game fi sh. Try vertical jigging using jigs and slap spoons, and keep a constant watch of your depth fi nder. JEFF KURRUS, NEBRASKALAND Watch the Leonid meteor shower Peak is Nov. 17-18 | Statewide Take the opportunity to enjoy some stargazing this month. The Leonid meteor shower will be visible Nov. 3 to Dec. 2 and reaches its peak Nov. 17-18, when you can expect to see 10-15 meteors per hour from a dark sky location. You can view meteors as soon as it's dark, but the best viewing is after midnight until dawn. Dress warm and bring a blanket or lawn chair. ERIC FOWLER, NEBRASKALAND Try late-season camping Throughout the month | Statewide Late-season camping off ers great wildlife watching and fewer crowds; give it a try this month. This time of year, Nebraska Game and Parks off ers a $5 discount on all types of camping, except primitive camping.
