26 Nebraskaland • December 2022 Outdoor Nebraska By Renae Blum Don't let the busy holiday season stop you from spending time outdoors. Here are a few ideas to make your time outside count, from photography opportunities to Christmas displays and birdwatching. N Shoot photos at Fort Robinson State Park Throughout the month There's never a bad time to take pictures at Fort Robinson. In early December, park staff and the public team up to decorate Fort Robinson's historical buildings with Christmas lights, which are on display throughout the holiday season. Arrive at dusk to get the best photos. This time of year also provides the opportunity to enjoy the park's stunning landscape and charismatic wildlife outside of the busy tourism season. Grab a camera and have some fun. All month, the barn, grounds and mansion will be decorated with Christmas lights. It's free and easy to simply drive by, but for the best experience, get out on the grounds and walk around.
