Badger and skunk hunting, 1946
This is a photo of my father, Leonard Pelster,
taken at his farm in Elsie. He had just returned
from the service in 1946. He was successful in
shooting a badger and several skunks. Leonard
was also an avid pheasant hunter and shot two
albino pheasants, one he proudly displays in
his home in North Platte.

Fishing at McConaughy, 1945
A picture of my mother, Ann
Richards, from Oshkosh, on the cover
of the Outdoor Nebraska magazine
from spring of 1945. She was
fishing at Lake McConaughy and
conservation officer Loron Bunney
took her photo.

Coyote hunting by airplane, 1940s
John Zimmerman took the rest of the
men up in his airplane to chase and hunt
coyotes west of Gretna, near the Platte
River. They were very successful that day,
as you can see by all the coyotes hanging
on the wings of the plane. The men in the
hunt, from left to right: Henry Glisman,
Louie Steen, Bill Zimmerman, Henry Siert
(my grandfather), Clarence Schroeder,
and John Zimmerman.
