What to Do in January and February
Look for shed
antlers
Mid-January to April
Statewide
Looking for shed antlers is a
great way to get outdoors this
time of year, and it's fun for the
whole family. In winter, seek
areas where deer concentrate to
feed or where they bed down to
sleep. Spots where deer have to
jump, such as fences, creeks and
ditches, are also good spots.

Late-season pheasant
hunting
Through Jan. 31 | Statewide
Breathe in the cool, crisp January air and
work on your resolution to get more fi t with a
late-season pheasant hunt. There's still great
opportunity because there's less pressure on
the birds, and they're concentrated in areas
with thick cover. A smaller group is more
eff ective, so just you, your best buddy and a
dog or two is perfect.
