In winter, seek areas where deer concentrate to feed or where they bed down to sleep. Spots where deer have to jump, such as fences, creeks and ditches, are also good spots. JENNY NGUYEN-WHEATLEY, NEBRASKALAND Late-season pheasant hunting Through Jan. 31 | Statewide Breathe in the cool, crisp January air and work on your resolution to get more fi t with a late-season pheasant hunt. There's still great opportunity because there's less pressure on the birds, and they're concentrated in areas with thick cover.
