PORTRAITS FROM THE PAST
Archery Deer Hunting in Boyd County, 1963
Pictured is my husband, Bill Lewis, with his bagged deer shot
on the family farm. Bill and I were high school sweethearts
and both graduated from Butte High School. My family and
I lived in Butte. Bill and his family lived on a farm between
Butte and Spencer. He was a student at UNL when he first
hunted with a bow. I think it was 1963, because he bought his
bow and other supplies using cream money he received for
milking his dad's cows and doing the separating.
He enjoyed all kinds of hunting and fishing throughout his life.
