They are especially common in roadside ditches and prairies. These fl owers are resistant to heat and drought and bloom all summer long. They're also a top menu item for hungry butterfl ies, such as painted ladies. Get out and shoot a photo of these blooms early and late in the day when there's warm light. JEFF KURRUS, NEBRASKALAND Catfi sh fi shing All month | Statewide May and June are two great months for fi shing any species anywhere in the state, and that includes catfi sh, a warmwater species. In June, these fi sh are active and feeding. Sutherland Reservoir is one catfi sh hotspot; others include Calamus, Merritt and Box Butte reservoirs, as well as Branched Oak and Lewis and Clark lakes. If you have access, rivers are great choices, too. Use your favorite bait; cut bait works especially well.
