Try the sledding hill at
Chadron State Park
As weather allows | Chadron
Enjoy gorgeous Pine Ridge scenery in a diff erent way — from a sled! Chadron
State Park's designated sledding hill, located in the western section of the
park, is a popular place for winter fun. It provides a steep 200-to-300-yard
downhill run with no trees to worry about, plus a parking lot close by. Find the
sledding hill location on the park map.

Hunt for cottontails
Season runs through Feb. 29 | Statewide
Rabbits are great-tasting and easy to clean — and
hunting them with a rimfi re allows you to hone your
tracking and observation skills. Head out when there's
snow on the ground and look for tracks leading to
a hiding spot, typically brush piles or overgrown
hedgerows. Then fl ush the rabbit out. Rabbits often
pause to look back before slipping back undercover.
That's the time to take your shot.
