Participate in
archery deer
season
Sept. 1 – Dec. 31, 2024
Statewide
Hunting deer with a bow and arrow
is an intense experience, said Aaron
Hershberger, a hunting and shooting
sports outreach coordinator with
Nebraska Game and Parks. You'll get
to see deer up-close, sometimes just
yards away. Plus, the season is a long
one, off ering diverse experiences and
a range of settings to choose from for
your hunt. Hershberger recommends
scouting ahead of the season. "Know
where those deer are and where
they're fi nding food," he said. "Once
you know that they're there, get out
whenever you can."

Attend the Enders Fall
Trail Ride
Sept. 28, 9-11 a.m. | Enders Reservoir
State Recreation Area
Saddle up your horse for two-and-a-half
to three hours of riding through gorgeous
scenery and seeing wildlife such as deer,
turkey and pheasants. The park has hosted
a spring and fall trail ride annually for three
years now. "The biggest thing people can
experience [at the event] is new friendships,"
said ride leader Dayna Scherbarth. "You get
to meet other people who love horses just as
much as you do." See additional details at
