30 Nebraskaland • August-September 2024 Participate in archery deer season Sept. 1 – Dec. 31, 2024 Statewide Hunting deer with a bow and arrow is an intense experience, said Aaron Hershberger, a hunting and shooting sports outreach coordinator with Nebraska Game and Parks. You'll get to see deer up-close, sometimes just yards away. Plus, the season is a long one, off ering diverse experiences and a range of settings to choose from for your hunt. Hershberger recommends scouting ahead of the season. "Know where those deer are and where they're fi nding food," he said. "Once you know that they're there, get out whenever you can." Take advantage of fall hunting seasons, and try your favorite outdoor activity at a Nebraska state park! N Attend the Enders Fall Trail Ride Sept. 28, 9-11 a.m. | Enders Reservoir State Recreation Area Saddle up your horse for two-and-a-half to three hours of riding through gorgeous scenery and seeing wildlife such as deer, turkey and pheasants. The park has hosted a spring and fall trail ride annually for three years now. "The biggest thing people can experience [at the event] is new friendships," said ride leader Dayna Scherbarth.
