January-February 2025 • Nebraskaland 65 Pheasant hunting near Harbine, 1970s Pictured from left are Jerry Beckman; Jim McConnel (deceased); myself, Rod Heim; Don Rademacher (deceased); and Loy Marotz. The four on the left were members of the East High School mathematics teaching staff and Marotz was an East High principal. The group made an annual hunting trip to Jerry Beckman's farm. Almost all of the hunting was done in milo fields. – Rodney Heim, Lincoln Bullhead fishing near Columbus, 1982 This is my 4-year-old son, Tony, of Columbus and the stringer of 14 bullheads he caught on his first time fishing. We were fishing a farm pond north of Columbus. In the picture he is showing his fish to the owner of Geno's Baitshop in Columbus. Dad never got a line in the water — too busy unhooking and baiting for the little Master Angler! – LaRoy Edie, Columbus
