March 2025 • Nebraskaland 27 What to Do in March View red fox pups March through early June | Statewide Commonly found in urban areas, these fascinating native animals are a delight to watch as pups, busy wrestling and playing as their parents care for them in the early months of their lives. Litters often range from one to seven, typically born from late February into April. Dens can be anything from a dug hole in a fi eld or repurposed badger den to a space underneath a shed, garage or old barn. View pups from a distance, use binoculars and keep your dogs leashed. Mahoney State Park Enjoy live, family-friendly magic shows at the beautiful Kountze Theater. March 8 will feature a showcase of top magic acts from the region, including Des Moines, Kansas City and Omaha. On Sunday, enjoy a matinee show by Omaha magician Ryan Chandler. With a camera acting as a giant magnifying glass, be sure not to blink as magic is projected on a large screen.
