Celebrate Earth Day at a state park
April 22 | Statewide
Nebraska's state parks are ideal places to celebrate Earth Day, with its
emphasis on protecting the environment. You might organize a group bike ride
or walk on a park trail, while practicing Leave No Trace principles. Or consider
hosting a picnic with friends and family, where everyone brings eco-friendly
snacks or locally-sourced food in reusable containers. Find a state park near
you at OutdoorNebraska.gov.

View prairie-chickens at
N-CORPE's blind
March 15 – April 30
About 30 minutes southwest of North Platte
Greater prairie-chickens put on an amazing show
during their spring mating rituals. One popular spot
to view them is N-CORPE's blind, where you can
make reservations for free. Given decent weather,
the chance of seeing birds close by is about 100
percent, said project manager Kyle Shepherd. The
blind comfortably holds six, and one group per day
is allowed, off ering plenty of privacy. Learn more
and make reservations at Ncorpe.org/wildlife-
viewing.
