12 NEBRASKAland • MARCH 2015 By Mark Vrtiska Keep these things in mind as you snow goose hunt this spring: • Movement in the decoys – you're trying to emulate thousands of geese, so the more movement you can introduce into the spread, the better. • Concealment – these geese have been shot at for about six months, they'll spot things and you need to make sure your blind(s) are well concealed or you're well hidden. • About 30 percent of snow geese coming through Nebraska are blue geese. I'd mix in a few into my spread. • Use full body decoys near the "hole" where you want them to land. • Do something different. Again, these geese have seen a lot of decoys and heard a lot of calls.
