MARCH 2015 • NEBRASKAland 57 This plow plane, as well as the one pictured on the previous page, both belonged to Eugene's grandfather, who had used them as a boy. Eugene's grandfather passed away in 1913. Oil cans and other antiques line the shelves of Eugene's collection. This drill, along with a horse, was used to plant wheat or rye. This assortment of tools includes a wooden scoop shovel. These blocks and tackles were used as a pulley system to lift heavy objects.
