S
pring migration season along the Platte River is a whirlwind
of wild wings, unpredictable weather and far-flung visitors
from across the region and around the globe. This convergence
provides the spectacle to one of the great winged migrations left
on earth. But once the spring crane migration season ends, there is
a palpable and collective exhale, the way a stadium feels once the
crowd has dissipated after an intense football game.
