even has a disc vending machine at
Seymour Smith Park.
Disc golf courses are typically
nine or 18 holes, but Lincoln has a
27-hole course at Roper Park – one of
the oldest in Nebraska. While 18-hole
courses demand increased exercise and
offer more of a challenge, nine-hole
fairways can be played in under an hour.
Start by visiting Nebdisc.wordpress.com
for a list of Nebraska's disc golf sites, which includes an
18-hole course at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near
Ashland, a nine-hole course at Chadron State Park in the
Pine Ridge and a nine-hole course at Fort Kearny State
Recreation Area.
Each of these parks also offers camping and a host of
other year-around activities. More information on each can
be found at Outdoornebraska.org.
Tournament information for more seasoned throwers is
available at Pdga.com. ■
