even has a disc vending machine at Seymour Smith Park. Disc golf courses are typically nine or 18 holes, but Lincoln has a 27-hole course at Roper Park – one of the oldest in Nebraska. While 18-hole courses demand increased exercise and offer more of a challenge, nine-hole fairways can be played in under an hour. Start by visiting Nebdisc.wordpress.com for a list of Nebraska's disc golf sites, which includes an 18-hole course at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near Ashland, a nine-hole course at Chadron State Park in the Pine Ridge and a nine-hole course at Fort Kearny State Recreation Area. Each of these parks also offers camping and a host of other year-around activities. More information on each can be found at Outdoornebraska.org.
