4 NEBRASKAland • AUGUST-SEPTEMBER 2015 Outdoor Plates Tim Jordening shot his first sharp-tailed grouse when he was 16 and can't wait for his 39 th season to open this September. He hasn't had his plate, which lists the Nebraska bag limit, nearly as long as he's been following his dog through the Sandhills in search of sharpies and prairie chickens. If you have a unique outdoor message plate you would like to share, or know someone who does, e-mail a photo (high-resolution, JPEG format only, please) along with your hometown and a brief description of the interests expressed on your license plate to Eric.Fowler@Nebraska.gov. hi k Brent Hall photographed this 17-year cicada on his parent's acreage near Humbolt. Alan Shadduck took this photo of a storm cell passing over Hastings this summer. Kevin Hice photographed these prairie chickens on April 4, 2015 on private land in Brown County south of Long Pine.
