Ice anglers of all skill levels can receive guidance on techniques, equipment, bait and safety. These events are particularly suitable for beginners and families. For dates and the latest information on these clinics, visit the Family Fishing Nebraska page on Facebook. Valentine's Day Specials Eugene T. Mahoney State Park and Ponca State Park Escape the typical hustle and bustle and spend Valentine's Day in a relaxed, private setting. Mahoney State Park will offer a dinner and lodging package, with special rates and a romantic meal. Ponca State Park will also offer special rates, as well as a complimentary breakfast for those who have cabin reservations. Valentine's Day also coincides with Ponca's Great Backyard Bird Count, during which citizen scientists are encouraged to record all the birds they see, making Ponca a particularly appropriate Valentine's destination for bird watchers.
