Start your viewing of the sandhill crane spring migration at Fort Kearny State Historical Park and Fort Kearny State Recreation Area, and join us for birdwatching tours at Ponca State Park all month long during the Marsh Madness celebration. Nebraska's Birthday March 1 Events Held Statewide Nebraska reaches a major milestone on March 1 – it turns 150. Celebrate by visiting the "Bridges: Sharing our Past to Enrich the Future" photography exhibit at the Great Plains Art Museum in Lincoln now through March 25. The exhibit links history, generations and cultures through stunning images of each of Nebraska's 93 counties. The photographs were selected by a juried panel and will continue to be displayed at various locations across the state through Jan. 7, 2018, in a traveling exhibit. Other sesquicentennial events in March include live theater, art exhibits, lectures, youth programs, and even an indoor equestrian world championship. Details are at ne150.org.
