I am an avid deer hunter and I have several photos from deer that we've shot from over the years, but I have to say this one is my favorite.
Ironically, one of the individuals who helped shoot some of the bucks is not present in the picture, that man is Alan Birkel, my father. However,
two of the individuals are relatives. My uncle, Dan Birkel and my grandfather, Harold Birkel are in the picture. My love and passion for the
outdoors has been passed down to me, and now I am sharing my passion of the outdoors with my children. Pictures and hunting stories like
this are priceless, and we never get tired of telling these stories as they help preserve that past for generations to come!
The picture was taken in November 1968 on Roy Walker's farmstead in between Genoa and St. Ed, Nebraska.
