November 2025 • Nebraskaland 27 What to Do in November Archery deer hunting Season is Sept. 1 to Dec. 31 | Statewide The week before the fi rearm deer season, which is Nov. 15-23, is a Nebraska archery hunter's most intriguing days of the year. Hunters looking to catch a buck moving in rut will spend time afi eld as most crops are usually out and bucks are on the move during their breeding season. Plan to hunt at diff erent times of the day, or all day, as the weather and action are perfect reasons to be in the stand. JEFF KURRUS, NEBRASKALAND Fall Fishing Through November | Statewide "Fall provides some of the best open- water fi shing of the year," said Daryl Bauer, Nebraska Game and Parks fi sheries outreach program manager, who enjoys fall fi shing because of the lack of competition with other anglers. Fish behavior in the fall is largely dictated by the need to feed, and most species will be in their best body condition. "Big baits for big fi sh" is true for fall.
