What to Do in March
Attend a Fly-Tying Class
March 4 and March 8
Turpin Outdoor Education Center
A woolly bugger, zebra midge or a San Juan worm —
these fly-tying patterns are some of the basics that
Cornhusker Fly Fishers experts will share with anglers
at the Turpin Outdoor Education Center on
Mar. 4, 6-9 p.m., and Mar. 8, 2-5 p.m. The workshop
welcomes new and experienced fly tiers and will
include all materials and tools. Participants will have
the opportunity to tie four to six flies. Cost is $10 per
class, and attendees can attend one or both classes. To
register, visit Calendar.OutdoorNebraska.gov.

Begin a Birding List
All Month Long | Statewide
Most serious birders, or birdwatchers, keep lists of how
many different species of birds they have identified. March
in Nebraska can be a great time to start your list — whether
it be a life list, state list, county list, year list, day list, yard
list, trip list or just about any type of list you can imagine.
Because of so many species returning in the spring, each
passing week will offer new opportunities to add species to
whatever list you choose to pursue.
