Named Halsey after the town where she was struck by a vehicle, this albino porcupine
was rescued, then healed, by Nebraska Wildlife Rehab in Omaha.
This species is one of more than 18,000 now in the National Geographic Photo Ark, Joel
Sartore's decades-long effort to document every species in human care around the world.
The Lincoln-based photographer began the project at the Lincoln Children's Zoo in 2006.
