A Good Day, ca. 1943
My paternal grandfather, George Nolda, and his
youngest son, Wilbur, with their two neighbors, Mr.
and Mrs. Fink, show off the results from a hunt near
Ravenna. Wilbur was drafted and sent to Korea years
later. In a letter home he lamented not being home for
pheasant season, but "I'll be home next year and we'll
give them hell." He was killed in action a month later.
