Camping
Nancy and Benton Shirey stopped by to camp with
their horses while on their way home to Kentucky. They
traveled to Bryce Canyon in Utah to ride, and Danish Alps
happened to be en route. First timers to the park, they rode
the 7-mile equestrian trail that loops around most of the
lake that morning and appreciated the SRA's scenery and
quiet, peaceful atmosphere.
The equestrian campground offers 29 equestrian electric
plus campsites, hitching posts, water and four horse corral
options, one of which can hold six horses, each in their
own 6' by 8' pen.
On the northwestern side of the lake, husband and wife
Mark and Robin Heckerson of Beaver Lake were celebrating
Mark's retirement. They brought their RV to the most scenic
site they could find. Though, they couldn't go wrong with
any of the 43 electric plus sites available, each offering
amazing views.
