A Cornfield Archery Hunt
I've had days when sitting in a deer
stand is the last thing I want to do,
even though I want to deer hunt. On
these days I'll still hunt in rows on the
edges of corn fields near travel lanes.
Nothing peaks the adrenaline more
than drawing your bow back while
you're on the ground.
Tip: Windy days offer the best
chance at moving through the corn,
and pulling the string, without being
detected.
A Hook and Bullet Trip
The most fun I've had on a hook and
bullet trip was at Grove Lake Wildlife
Management Area in Antelope County.
I fished for northern pike with a group
of friends in the morning, and in the
afternoon we split up to bowhunt for
Walking field and food plot edges for mourning dove, even with a canine companion, is
a great way to extend the dove season and practice on your wing shooting for flushing
species such as pheasants.
