View the Perseid Meteor
Shower
Aug. 12-13
Statewide
You'll have multiple "shooting stars" to wish upon the evening of Aug.
12 and the morning of Aug. 13, during the peak of what is expected to
be the best meteor shower of the year. NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke
recommends heading to a dark area in the suburbs or countryside, and
spending a few hours outside watching the sky. At an expected rate
of about 60-70 meteors per hour, you may see around one meteor per
minute.
