Opening of Pheasant Season
Oct. 27
Statewide
The waiting is over: a new pheasant season is upon us. Some of
Outdoor Education Specialist Aaron Hershberger's strategies for a new
season include starting early in the day, using teamwork, taking breaks,
avoiding making any commotion, and of course, having fun – all while
wearing hunter orange to remain safe. Learn about other open hunting
seasons at OutdoorNebraska.gov/huntingseasons.

Enjoy Fall Color
Throughout the month
Statewide
October's cooling temperatures and shortening
days trigger an explosion of color in Nebraska's
trees, shrubs, vines and grasses. For a great
viewing experience, Game and Parks' Greg Wagner
recommends searching out areas with a variety of
tree species. Places with high elevation or water are
good places to start. They also offer incredible views
and picturesque refl ections.
