N ebraska Chapter Safari Club International is planning its annual fundraiser for Jan. 25 and 26, 2019, at the Beardmore Event Center in Bellevue, Nebraska. All the proceeds will fund outdoor education, youth and women hunting programs, conservation and hunters' advocacy agendas. This year, our featured guest is Melissa Bachman, star of Winchester's Deadly Passion. Ms. Bachman will speak at our membership meeting, present an afternoon seminar on Jan. 26, and be part of our evening festivities both Jan. 25 and Jan. 26. While we are excited and proud to bring Ms. Bachman to our state, we are equally excited to bring exhibitors from around the world. Historically, our event has brought in outfitters from Colorado, Nebraska, and South Dakota as well as individuals from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Argentina and New Zealand, to name a few. This year we hope for the same, as our Board of Directors is working hard to bring in more exhibitors. Other items of interest will be our live and silent auctions items. From hunts to books to hunting apparel and gear to jewelry, we will have a little bit for everyone. You can join in our raffle items and take a chance to win quality firearms and beautiful jewelry. Friday night, in addition to our auction and meeting Melissa Bachman, we will have a beer garden complete with Nebraska's own Bohlzen Beer Band sponsored by Gunderson's Jewelers. On Saturday afternoon seminars will include Melissa Bachman and the Women of SCI who will host a wine and chocolate party along with youth activities. Saturday evening will include live and silent auctions, as well as award presentations. While membership is encouraged, we happily open our doors to non-members and encourage everyone to attend our event. Please bring your friends and children to enjoy a weekend with an organization that promotes youth hunting, outdoor education, conservation and hunters' advocacy in Nebraska and throughout the world. ■ For more information, visit nebraskasafariclubint.com or call Mary L.
