Little Legs, Big Heart
T
he grass ruffles ahead, flicking away
ice like specks of glass. A flash of fur
here. Some red and white there. Nose to
the ground, bouncing and zig-zagging,
punctuated by small bursts of short legs
leaping. For brief moments, soggy ears take
flight over vegetation.
Then halt.
Tongue wagging and panting – a little body
still winding with motion despite stopping.
Cate the French Brittany looks back to check
on her hunter, Commissioner Robert Allen,
who follows closely behind.
"Come on!" she seems to say, through bug-
eyed, larger-than-life expression.
How can you not follow her to the ends of
the earth? ■
