Hunting challenge
Throughout the month | Statewide
With multiple hunting seasons in play, including deer,
turkey and pheasant, now is a great time to take part in
the Take 'em Hunting challenge. Introduce, or reintroduce,
someone to hunting, snap a photo and share it with Game
and Parks for the chance to win prizes. Learn more at

View woodpeckers in your
backyard

To attract these beautiful birds, off er suet in special feeders or
net onion bags at least fi ve feet from the ground. Adding a bird
bath and other kinds of food, such as peanuts and sunfl ower
seeds, will make your backyard even more attractive.

Fish for trout
Throughout the month | Statewide
Catch pan-sized rainbow trout where stocked,
and fi sh for rainbow, brook, brown and
cutthroat trout in fl owing, spring-fed streams
that do not freeze. Catch all four species of
trout found in Nebraska, and you can earn the
