Bass fi shing
Late March or as weather allows | Statewide
Early spring is one of the best times of the year for bass fi shing; it's when
some of the biggest bass of the year can be caught. Fish become more
active when the weather warms up, making late March more promising.
Look for small lakes, sandpits and farm ponds, which warm up sooner
than larger bodies of water.

Lake Ogallala
Throughout the month
Grab your binoculars or spotting scopes
and enjoy viewing eagles and migrating
waterfowl at Lake Ogallala. In winter,
eagles are attracted to the open water just
below the dam and can be seen fl ying and
roosting at the lake. View them from your
vehicle along Lake Ogallala's gravel roads
and along the spillway.
