Waterfowl migration and prairie chicken leks provide some of this month's best photography opportunities, as do sandhill cranes in central Nebraska. Late-season blizzards can also off er beautiful scenery. Snow goose hunting Throughout the month | Central and eastern Nebraska Snow geese off er some of Nebraska's most challenging waterfowl hunting. Watch for bird concentrations on public lakes and private fi elds. Setting up in the decoys is a great tactic, and wearing white or snow camoufl age will help you disappear within your decoy spread. PHOTO BY JEFF KURRUS Sandhill crane viewing Throughout the month | Central Nebraska Take in one of the world's greatest wildlife viewing spectacles: sandhill crane migration. More than half a million cranes descend on central Nebraska each spring. Most crane watchers visit areas between Grand Island and Kearney, where the largest concentrations occur and resources like viewing platforms and tours are available.
