What To Do in May
Attract orioles to
your backyard
May through mid-June
Statewide
As orioles return to Nebraska, see if
you can attract them to your yard
with some sweet snacks, such as
grape jelly, hummingbird nectar,
oranges and grapefruit. Oriole feeders
work well, but you also can place jelly
in shallow dishes and hang fruit from
a small nail. Remember to clean your
feeding place every 7-10 days, and
consider adding native plants and
trees to your yard, which also attract
birds.
