Wet a line for largemouth bass, bluegill and walleye, stroll the paved trail encircling the lake, and go for a ride on a scenic equestrian trail. JENNY NGUYEN-WHEATLEY, NEBRASKALAND Practice for archery deer and turkey seasons Throughout the month | Statewide To be in strong shooting shape for archery deer and fall turkey season, start practicing now. Make it fun and go bowfi shing, or participate in an outdoor 3-D shoot. It's also a good idea to practice shooting from an elevated stand or sitting position. ERIC FOWLER, NEBRASKALAND Fish for walleyes at Lewis and Clark Lake Throughout the month | Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area In July, fi nding fi sh gets challenging anywhere in the state, but thanks to the fl owing waters of Lewis and Clark Lake, fi sh like walleye are still biting as they search for food. This time of year, it's mostly a trolling bite, so a variety of crankbaits and live bait rigs work well.
