Fish for crappie
at Red Willow State
Recreation Area
As weather allows | McCook, Nebraska
Crappie populations at Red Willow are booming right
now, and spring is one of the best times of year to fi sh
for them. The lake off ers prime crappie habitat, with
plenty of vegetation to attract fi sh. Pick a nice day
to go out: Fish will be seeking warmth in shallower
areas, and they'll retreat during a cold snap or spring
snowstorm.
