Stark, Prior Lake, Minnesota Flathead catfishing, Genoa, 1974 On Saturday, Sept. 21,1974, Emil "Buddy" Drozd and Charlie "Chief" Drozd decided to try their luck fishing. The day turned successful with the fishermen landing flathead catfish weighing 51, 37 and 33 pounds respectfully. Buddy and Chief were lifelong anglers in Genoa. – Emil Drozd, Genoa October 2023 • Nebraskaland 61 Pheasant hunting in the 1930s My grandpa, Fred Mihulka, and his son, Ray, are pictured here with the Brunken family relatives along with a few salesmen for an Omaha auto parts company. Grandpa Fred could fire a shotgun from the hip. He duck hunted on the Platte and Loup rivers with wooden decoys. The tradition followed through the generations and my son and I duck and goose hunt regularly. – Keith Milhulka, Columbus
