Pheasant hunting in Fillmore County, 1991
The night before this photo was taken we had
a new 3-inch blanket of snow. The best thing
about hunting in the snow is that it gives one
the opportunity to track game. On this hunt, Jeff
shot at a rooster and clipped a wing. The rooster
glided and went down in a harvested milo field.
We found where the rooster had hit down in
the snow and began tracking it. Eventually the
rooster stopped and hid, and Daisy pointed him.
Harvesting this rooster enabled us to limit out
on this snowy day hunt. The hunt took place in
Fillmore County on Jan. 5, 1991.

P.S. Jeff and I have been hunting together since
1983. I am now 79 years old, and we still pheasant
hunt together. Jeff was 18 years old in this photo.

Walleye fishing at Lake McConaughy, 1999
People were commenting on walleye being too big at the lake. My good friend Mark Walters and I
would go out at 1 a.m. and fish until sunup. We caught three walleyes over 10 pounds, released two
and one is on my wall. What a night!
