June 2025 • Nebraskaland 57 Hunting blind in Richardson County, 1973 This photo is my brother Bruce Morehead, age 11, and me, Karen Morehead Stevenson, 13, in 1973, at our blind in Richardson County. We were there with our father John H. Morehead, who together with my mother, Amy, took us and our other three siblings, Marc, Kristine and Amalia, camping, hunting and trapshooting. As kids, we spent every possible moment outside, planting trees, horseback riding, walking beans and detasseling corn — things that were near and dear to the hearts of many Nebraska kids. What an amazing privilege to grow up this way! – Karen Stevenson, Fishing on the Republican River, 1998 Terry Fraser of Hastings, sons and grandsons enjoyed a fun day of fishing in 1998 on the Republican River near Alma. Pictured from left: sons Mark and Mike, dad Terry, and son Mitch. Grandsons helping to hold fish are Kellen, Travis and Tyler. Cheryl, Mitch's wife, took the picture after helping with the catch. Thanks so much; we enjoy reading Nebraskaland. – Sharon Fraser, Hastings
