Recent tiger trout stockings
at Rock Creek SRA, near the
hatchery, Bessey Pond at the
entrance of the Nebraska
National Forest, and Lake
Ogallala SRA at the base
of Lake McConaughy
SRA will give anglers
opportunities for catching
tiger trout. Eventually
some tiger trout may go
down the canal system
from Lake Ogallala.
The triploid rainbow trout
currently in Lake Ogallala
that have moved down the
canals thrive with plenty of
forage. Tiger trout are expected
to do the same, and as they grow
new state records will be created.
Many anglers have been fishing
for tiger trout at Lake Ogallala with
success.
Blue Creek near Crescent Lake
National Wildlife Refuge has been
stocked with tiger trout at several
locations. Fishing on the White River
can be done at Fort Robinson State
Park and there are several miles of
Open Fields and Water public access
areas on the river south of the park.
Lake number five at Two Rivers SRA
near Waterloo, Nebraska, has plenty
of trout fishing for anglers of all ages.
More tiger trout will be stocked in
other Nebraska creeks, rivers and water
bodies later this year.
If you like a fight on the line and
love catching trout, now is your chance
to try at a new
state record
tiger trout,
make new
memories,
and cross off
a bucket-list
fish in the
process.
